Steve Melton, previously operations manager at the company&#8217;s Myrtle Beach, S.C., location, will serve as sales manager, and Dave Davis will serve as the operations manager.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> The move is part of the company&#8217;s growth plans to expand into new areas. The company will incorporate a patented, soy-based adhesive developed collectively by Columbia, the College of Forestry at Oregon State University, and Hercules, that will eliminate the use of formaldehyde from Columbia&#8217;s veneer-core and Woodstalk agrifiber-core panel products.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> Based in Portland, Ore., employee-owned Columbia Forest Products (<i>www.cfpwood.com<\/i>) was founded in 1957 and operates facilities in the United States and Canada.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> <b>Huttig Building Products Continues Expansion Plans<\/b> St. Louis\u2013based distributor Huttig Building Products announced plans to expand into Long Island, N.Y., with the company&#8217;s 46th branch. The area, according to a recent statement from Michael Lupo, president and CEO, has \u201capproximately 27,000 housing starts per year\u201d and has a \u201cstrong market for repair and remodeling.\u201d The branch, which will service Nassau and Suffolk counties and extend the company&#8217;s presence in the New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey tri-state area, is part of Huttig&#8217;s growth initiatives to expand product offerings and geographical presence.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> Huttig Building Products (<i>www.huttig.com<\/i>) has been in business for 120 years, serves 47 states, and had 2004 sales of $938.4 million.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> <b>EBMDA Names New Directors<\/b> Harrisburg, Pa.\u2013based Eastern Building Material Dealers Association (EBMDA) recently appointed two new directors.
