The stained and polished concrete designs were achieved by saw cutting overlapping circles and half circles in hallways, large rooms, and door ways using different sized home made templates made from masonite and compass type saws. <\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The most difficult task was laying out all the saw cuts and cutting each one. Each different radius had to be layed out on the shop floor and then transferred onto 1\/8 inch masonite. Over a mile of circles were cut, numbered, linked, and expanded based on their position on the blue print. Most of the half circles were cut with a hand grinder and a steady hand. A Mongoose concrete engraver and a Cobra decorative concrete saw from Engrave-A-Crete, were attached to a center hub and used for all the overlapping circles in the main area. <\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Three stain colors were used within the overlapping circles and all the stains were completed by hand using sponges and cut up micro fiber mops. The main challenge was taking meticulous care not to mix the colors. All this had to be done on a suspended structural floor and slab on grade. Materials used to complete the polishing job include Ameripolish 3D HS, Ameripolish Surelock Dye, Ameripolish Color Solve, and Ameripolish SR2.
