The problem is exacerbated by the difficulty of communicating expectations and program rules to a diverse socioeconomic demographic with varying levels of interest in recycling.<\/p> <p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When ReCommunity presented the audit findings, they proposed implementing a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pwmag.com\/gis\/mobile311-mapping-solution-from-facilitydude_o.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">mobile work order solution called Mobile311<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/facilitydude.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">FacilityDude<\/a>. We then spent five months testing the technology on a select number of households before implementing a full-scale program.<\/p> <p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mobile311 uses GPS technology with client-specific GIS data such as addresses, streets, collection routes, neighborhoods, parks, etc., and a customizable app interface to collect information in the field. It enables our refuse truck operators and recycling program manager to track repeat contaminators and target those households with additional education and enforcement.<\/p> <p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019ve outfitted our eight recycling trucks with a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.samsung.com\/us\/mobile\/galaxy-tab\/SM-T230NZWAXAR\" target=\"_blank\">Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 tablet<\/a> loaded with a customized Mobile311 app. (The app also runs on Apple\u2019s iOS platform.)<\/p> <p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each truck already had a high-definition, closed-circuit Voyager hopper camera and in-cab monitor made by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asaelectronics.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">ASA Electronics LLC<\/a>.
